HUB Awards Intro Film

Last year I was kindly invited to produce the Awards Night Intro Film for the Cornwall HUB, a Cornish Business Networking Group in Cornwall.  The video was a big success on the night and got the room excited about the evening ahead.  It also had a positive response post-event when it was posted on the Hub Awards website.   That’s why I didn’t hesitate to agree to producing this year’s awards film.  The Hub Awards 2012 takes place at the Atlantic Hotel, Newquay on 29th November, we will also be there to film the event.

So far we’ve had a couple days filming down at Carn Brea Leisure Center in Redruth with various Hub committee members taking part in different sports to commemorate the Olympics year.  Our hope is to create an exciting 4 minute video that celebrates Cornish Business through sport.  We still have a few remaining filming sessions before the editing can start, but so far the video is ticking all the right boxes.

Filming @ Cornwall Business Show

It’s been a hectic couple of days covering the Cornwall Business Show 2012 at Kingsley Village for LESW (Live Events South West).  Not only were there over 50 exhibitors to film & interview but also 8 seminars running simultaneously with an evening networking event to top it all off!

My colleague Tom From Paramore Productions was on hand to assist with the production where we shot on 3 cameras using Glidetracks, Jib Arms & Steadicam.  We met some great new businesses and chatted with many old friends.  Looking forward to getting stuck into the edit which will be online in the next 3 weeks.

Missing Cornwall in London

What a whirlwind day we’ve just had!  Left home at 5am to drive up to London with my colleague Tom, from Paramore Productions.  Got to Mayfair at 10am to setup filming inside a pub, started shooting at 11am then went on a whistle-stop tour of London sights in torrential downpours of sideways rain to film a man in a wetsuit walking about with a 7ft surfboard.  All sounds a bit cryptic doesn’t it?

The job was for St Austell Brewery who are getting ready to push their ‘Missing Cornwall’ campaign.  Wildcard PR are handling the project so we worked closely with them to develop the ideas for this video.  I don’t want to give too much away yet but let’s just say there were some very confused looking faces wandering around the streets of London!  It was a great experience but we felt like we hardly had a chance to take it in properly as we were too busy scrambling around under umbrellas trying to keep camera kit dry.  We eventually made it back to Cornwall in time for tea.

TJK Logistics Promotional Video

We are currently filming a promotional video for a TJK Limited, a Logistics company based in Roche that specialise in the nationwide distribution of waste bins for various district Councils. We have been on-site in Tandridge, Surrey, with one of the distribution crews to document the process of delivering thousands of plastic wheely-bins to resident’s households.

We used the 14ft jib & borrowed Glidecam kit to get some great footage of the distribution yard and lorries. We have also visited the TJK Logistics main office to film interviews and operations with a view to completing a 3 minute edit to showcase everything the company can offer to it’s clients. The video will be on display at an upcoming trade show they are partaking in, shortly after the film will go live on their website.

Filming complete for Action For Children

Throughout August we have been filming the Cornwall SPACE Summer Activities Group which is run by Action For Children.  This group is for disabled young people who otherwise would not have a lot to do during the summer holidays and is split into 2 age groups, 5-12 & 13-18 year-olds.  We have followed them on activity days on everything from Surfing, Bowling, Cooking, Music making and Messy play to outdoor adventure days, a Teddybear’s picnic and even a fabulous Night at Falmouth Maritime Museum.

We’ve had great fun working with the children & operatives from Action For Children and the filming is now complete.  We will now aim to produce 2 separate films for both age groups promoting the group to future parents & children for next summer.
